‘I Was Forced’ – Actress Oluebube Explains APC Campaign Appearance

Nollywood actress, Oluebube Obio, has alleged that she was forced to attend an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign event, claiming that her safety could not be guaranteed.

It was reported that the actress made the claim while responding to criticism over videos showing her at the political gathering.

Some Nigerians had questioned why she attended the campaign, prompting Oluebube to explain that there was more to her appearance than what was seen in the videos.

In a social media post, she alleged that she was being blackmailed and said she would reveal those behind it when the time was right.

She also appealed to her supporters to pray for her, saying she felt uncomfortable and stressed during the event.

Oluebube wrote: “I was actually forced to be in such settings, my life and safety is not guaranteed, if you watch the video closely, I myself felt so much discomfort and stressed up.

“When the time is right I will expose the people blackmailing me, the least you can do is to pray for me.”

The actress, however, did not mention the names of those she accused of forcing or blackmailing her and gave no further details about the circumstances surrounding her appearance at the APC campaign.

Lagos Govt Slams Tunde Ednut Over Viral Video Of Mushin Waste

The Lagos State Government has criticised Instagram blogger Tunde Ednut over a viral video showing heaps of waste in Mushin, describing the footage as old and unrepresentative of the current situation in the area.

Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, made the remarks in a post on X on Saturday.

Wahab accused the blogger of having a “persistent tendency to portray Nigeria, particularly Lagos State, in a negative light.” NigeriaInvestment Guide

The commissioner said the video being circulated did not reflect the current state of Mushin, insisting that the government had taken steps to address waste management in the area.

“Dear Tunde @mazitundeednut, We understand your persistent tendency to portray Nigeria, particularly Lagos State, in a negative light, often to the detriment of your audience. However, we believe it is important to verify information before publishing it.

“You can still generate engagement and earn from your content without inadvertently misleading your followers”, Wahab wrote.

He said the video shared by Ednut was old, adding that the location “has since been cleared, and LAWMA has continued to sustain its operations in the area.”

One of them, he noted, is the “unwillingness of some residents and property occupiers to pay for PSP waste collection services.”

“Nevertheless, LAWMA and its teams have consistently intervened in areas where such challenges arise and continue to work towards maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment,” he added.

The commissioner urged content creators to verify information before posting.

“We therefore encourage you to verify your information before publishing, rather than relying on outdated content that could give a misleading impression of the current situation or unnecessarily project Lagos and Nigeria in a negative light. NigeriaInvestment Guide

“Constructive criticism is welcome, but it is most effective when it is based on accurate and verifiable information”, he concluded.

“I was sick like someone who had malaria. Malaria/typhoid, that was it, and that was how it started gradually. From one Hospital to another. I can’t remember how long it lasted. I think it lasted for months because I was in a coma and was given a 50/50 chance. My mum was even told to go home”, she recalled.

Sindodo said the experience was traumatic, but credited her recovery to faith and prayers.

While speaking on her trials, she held back tears as she reflected on God’s faithfulness.

“God answered a lot of prayers in my life. God has been faithful because I don’t want to be emotional,” she said.

Olaide Olabanji Accuses Nigerian Actors of Supporting Bad Politicians for Personal Gains

Nollywood actor Olaide Olabanji has condemned some of his colleagues for endorsing politicians he said contribute little to the country’s development.

The actor took to Instagram on Thursday to express concern for the wellbeing of Nigerians, especially sick entertainers while also questioning the state of the nation’s healthcare.

Olaide, who refused to name names, slammed actors for not using their platforms to speak against bad governance. He also warned of the effect that the decisions made today could have on their children.

The actor also mentioned unnamed colleagues who allegedly helped politicians distribute food items like rice and beans during election campaigns, asking what they had done with the money they were paid during the 2023 general elections.
“We contributed to where Nigeria is today. But we keep on aiding evil. The nonchalant behavior has put many Nollywood stars on sick beds today. So many of us have the opportunity to speak truth to power, but we don’t because of our stomach infrastructure.

“If many of us told the truth to our government, maybe by now they would have given Nigerians good hospitals. If Nigeria is well governed, they will have different hospitals that will treat different diseases and no one will go abroad for treatment.

“Nigeria deserves good health system, good electricity supply, good roads and adequate security. Many of the bad leaders you are supporting today do not go to Nigerian hospitals for treatment. They take their children and family members abroad for medical care. We have the facilities to refer them overseas for standard headaches.

“Where do we go when we sick? If any actor falls sick, we go to social media and try to raise money for them. Is that what it’s supposed to be? Tell the truth to Nigerian leaders. The citizens are hungry, there is hardship in Nigeria but you refuse to speak up because of your stomach infrastructure.

“We have seen actors sharing rice and beans on behalf of the government. They became the servants of politicians. Is the money they paid you in 2023 still useful to you? The fuel price is now N1,400, but we keep supporting them. You forget you have children.

Several Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts linked to Anjorin were specifically identified in the court order.

The order was granted ex parte, meaning the court considered the application at this stage without hearing the respondent. As a result, the restriction is interim and remains subject to further proceedings and the eventual determination of the matter.

The court further directed that the case file be returned to the Registry of the High Court of Lagos State for reassignment to the appropriate division.

Bovi Opens Up on Rejecting Roles to Avoid Nollywood Typecasting

Comedian, writer, actor and filmmaker Bovi has revealed that he rejected several acting opportunities early in his career because he feared being stereotyped into playing the same type of character.

The comedian made the disclosure while speaking on the CreativiTea podcast, explaining that the offers came after his breakthrough role as the rustic “Warri boy” in the 2007 comedy series Extended Family, which he created.

Bovi said many of the roles offered to him afterward were variations of the same character or involved limited parts, such as playing a gateman or other passive characters. Rather than accept the opportunities, he chose to wait for roles that would allow him to demonstrate his versatility.

According to him, his decision was influenced by his early exposure to television and his understanding of how the entertainment industries in Hollywood and Bollywood operate. He said he realised that accepting similar roles too early could cause audiences and filmmakers to associate him permanently with one character type.

Bovi explained that he had always believed there was more to his abilities than the rustic character that initially brought him recognition.

He said, “I know there’s more to me,” adding that he deliberately avoided becoming stereotypical in his approach to his career.

The Delta State-born entertainer also revealed that his desire for versatility dates back to his teenage years. He said he made a conscious decision not to allow one character to define his professional identity.

Bovi noted that the principle continues to guide his career today, as he still turns down acting offers when he believes they do not reflect the range and diversity he wants to bring to his work.

His approach has enabled him to establish himself across comedy, acting, writing and filmmaking.
