Fury Threatens to Abandon Joshua Fight, Calls for Usyk Trilogy

Tyson Fury has threatened to walk away from his proposed blockbuster fight with Anthony Joshua, saying he could instead face Oleksandr Usyk for a third time if the long-awaited all-British showdown does not materialise.

Fury and Joshua have been negotiating a potential heavyweight clash, reportedly targeted for November, but an official venue and confirmation of the fight are yet to be announced.

The former world champion reignited uncertainty over the bout after claiming Joshua was backing out of the proposed contest.
In a video posted on Instagram, Fury said he would look elsewhere for his next opponent if Joshua was no longer prepared to fight him.

“This will only lead me to a fight with Oleksandr Usyk,” Fury said.

Addressing Usyk, who has twice defeated him, Fury added: “You got the decisions last time, fair play to you. Good luck to you, let’s do it again. Let’s run it back in November.”

Fury then challenged Joshua to make a decision on whether he intended to proceed with the fight.

“The ball is now in your court… do you want to fight me this year, 2026, or are you calling quits?” he said. “Let me know because I am now looking for a new opponent.”
Fury, 38, had previously branded Joshua a “coward” amid frustration over the lack of confirmation for their much-anticipated meeting.

The proposed fight would pit two of Britain’s biggest heavyweight names against each other, with both men having previously held world titles.

However, the uncertainty surrounding the venue has added to the delay. Madison Square Garden in New York has been widely tipped to host the bout, although Joshua’s camp is understood to prefer Wembley Stadium in London.

Sela, the Saudi state-owned promotional company financing the proposed fight, and broadcaster Netflix are reportedly keen on staging the contest in the United States.

Fury’s alternative plan would see him return to the ring against Usyk, who has beaten him twice and previously held undisputed heavyweight champion status.

Joshua has also been working with members of Usyk’s training team, adding another layer of intrigue to Fury’s latest challenge.

For now, Fury’s comments have cast further doubt over whether the highly anticipated Fury-Joshua showdown will go ahead as planned in 2026.

Wizkid Marks 15th Music Anniversary With Electrifying Afro Plus Fest Performance

Grammy Award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, headlined the closing night of the 2026 Afro Plus Fest in Maryland, United States, on Sunday.

The singer performed on the final day of the three-day festival, held from September 4 to 6 at the Northwest Stadium Complex in Landover, Maryland.

The performance came as Wizkid marked 15 years in the music industry.

He gained widespread recognition in 2011 following the release of his debut album, Superstar, which featured the hit single “Holla at Your Boy.”

Since then, Wizkid has established himself as one of Nigeria’s leading Afrobeats artistes, earning international recognition and a Grammy Award during his career.

Wizkid, who shared the stage with a global line-up of Afrobeats, dancehall and hip-hop artists, delivered a mix of career-defining tracks that had the crowd singing along.

The performance included “In My Bed,” “Daddy Yo,” “Bad to Me,” “Slow Down,” “Caro,” “Essence,” “Alaye,” “Jogodo,” “Money Constant,” and “Ojuelegba.”

Since his breakthrough in the industry, Wizkid has built one of the most decorated careers in African music, becoming the first Nigerian artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as a co-writer and featured artist on Drake’s “One Dance.”

His catalogue includes albums such as Ayo, Made in Lagos, More Love, Less Ego and Morayo.

Wizkid has also won a Grammy Award for his contribution to Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl” and is the most-streamed African artist on platforms such as Spotify. His Tems-assisted hit “Essence” achieved massive global crossover success.

The artist’s appearance as the final-night headliner underscored both his influence on Afrobeats and the rapid growth of Afro Plus Fest into a major diaspora gathering.

Official announcements for the festival featured Nigerian superstar Davido as the Friday headliner, Jamaican dancehall artiste Alkaline on Saturday, and Wizkid closing on Sunday, with additional acts including Lil Baby, Latto, Tems, Ayra Starr, Tiwa Savage, Olamide and Adekunle Gold among others.

Billed as the largest Afro-Caribbean-Hip Hop festival, the 2026 edition reportedly expanded to a three-day format across two stages, drawing a projected 40,000 fans daily.

Reflecting on the festival’s growth, Founder and Executive Producer Michael Awosanya noted in an earlier statement that the event had evolved into a global diaspora movement.

“The block party we dreamed about for a decade became a reality, and it exceeded every expectation. This sold-out debut proved that Afro Plus Fest is not just an event — it’s a movement. This was only the beginning. Afro Plus Fest is here to stay,” Awosanya stated.

Mo Bimpe hits back at critics over viral video with Jide Awobona

Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has pushed back against social media users who questioned her interaction with actor Jide Awobona after a video of the pair at a recent movie premiere sparked online debate.

The brief clip, recorded during the September 2, 2026 premiere of A Mama Deola Wedding Story in Lagos, showed Mo Bimpe seated between Awobona and her husband, actor Lateef Adedimeji.

In the video, the actress was seen resting her head on Awobona’s shoulder while both appeared focused on something on her phone.
The seemingly casual moment drew the attention of some social media users, who scrutinised the interaction and speculated about Adedimeji’s reaction. Some viewers suggested that the actor appeared uncomfortable, leading to discussions about appropriate boundaries between married people and friends.

Responding to the criticism on her Instagram Story on Sunday, Mo Bimpe questioned why a simple interaction between friends had been interpreted negatively.

She maintained that marriages are not necessarily defined by suspicion, restrictions or constant monitoring, stressing that trust and mutual confidence can also form the foundation of a healthy relationship.
“Not every marriage is built on fear, insecurity, and constant monitoring. Some marriages are built on trust, friendship, respect, and confidence,” she said.

The actress added that the reaction to the video reflected the kind of relationships some of her critics may be accustomed to rather than the reality of her own marriage.

“The fact that so many of you found that interaction strange says more about the relationships you’re used to than it does about mine,” she said.

Mo Bimpe further rejected the suggestion that her marriage was threatened by her friendship with Awobona, describing her husband as a secure man.

“Not every marriage is toxic, there are still healthy marriages but I understand if you can’t relate. My husband is a secure man, a brief conversation with a family friend does not threaten our marriage, or require anyone’s concern,” she added.

Aduke Set to Make Musical Comeback With ‘Aralamo’ After Six-Year Hiatus

Nigerian-born singer-songwriter prepares to reconnect with audiences through a song about betrayal, intuition and emotional truth.

After six years without new music, Nigerian singer-songwriter Aduke is preparing to reconnect with audiences with “Aralamo,” her first single since her 2020 debut album. NigeriaInvestment Guide

Scheduled for release on September 11, 2026, the new single marks the start of a new chapter for an artist whose music has always been closely tied to African identity, Yoruba storytelling and a global musical perspective.

For Aduke, the return carries particular significance.

Since her debut, she has moved through different seasons of life while continuing to develop her identity as an artist. Now based in the UK, her creative journey spans Nigeria and the wider world, yet Nigeria remains central to the stories she tells and the cultural language through which she expresses them.

Her sound blends Afro Neo-Soul, Afro-Jazz, soul and world music, drawing on African rhythms and Yoruba influences to create music that is both rooted and contemporary.

“Aralamo” turns that storytelling inward.

The song explores betrayal and the emotional aftermath of discovering that what may feel like a sudden revelation was, in fact, visible long before the truth became impossible to ignore.

The challenge was accepting them.

That is the emotional territory Aduke explores in “Aralamo”—the tension between intuition and denial, and the difficult moment when we have to admit that we may have known more than we were willing to acknowledge.

Her return follows a period in which her relationship with identity and belonging has continued to evolve.

In “Omo Yoruba in London,” Aduke explored what it means to carry Yoruba culture into a new environment, using music to reflect on life as a Yoruba woman living in Britain.

The song connected two places that have become important to her story: Nigeria, where her cultural and musical foundations were formed, and London, where a significant part of her present-day journey has unfolded. DownloadInteractive Maps

“Aralamo” continues that evolution, but through a more intimate lens.

It is a song about human relationships, trust and the moments when we have to admit that our instincts were telling us something we did not want to hear.

For Aduke, returning after six years is not about reproducing the artist she was in 2020.

It is about reconnecting with audiences while sharing what the years away have produced—a deeper understanding of herself, her artistry and the stories she wants to tell.

“Aralamo” marks the first step in that return.

As Aduke prepares to release the single, she is also looking ahead to a broader period of music, performances and creative work that will further introduce audiences to the artist she has become.

The road ahead is global, but the roots remain firmly Nigerian.

“Aralamo” will be released on September 11, 2026, across major digital streaming platforms.
