Davido Releases Sixth Studio Album ‘ORIADÉ,’ Marks New Chapter in 15-Year Music Journey

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has officially released his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, describing the project as the beginning of a new chapter in his remarkable 15-year career in the music industry.

The highly anticipated album, which dropped on July 31, 2026, contains 13 tracks, making it Davido’s shortest studio album to date. The project breaks away from the 17-track format that defined each of his previous five studio albums, signalling a fresh creative direction for the award-winning singer.

ORIADÉ features an impressive lineup of African and international collaborators, including Leon Thomas, Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, FOLA, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD, and GL_Ceejay. The diverse guest appearances reflect Davido’s commitment to blending Afrobeats with global sounds while showcasing emerging and established talents.

The singer first announced the album on June 29, revealing its release date through a cinematic social media video in which he appeared dressed in regal Yoruba attire. The visual was accompanied by a traditional Yoruba eulogy that echoed the meaning and cultural significance of the album’s title.

“The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne,” Davido wrote in the caption, hinting at the personal and artistic evolution behind the project.

Beyond the music, ORIADÉ is expected to usher in another major phase of Davido’s career. The singer has already confirmed plans for a global tour in support of the album, with fans anticipating surprise guest appearances and memorable performances across different countries.

Ahead of the album’s release, Davido introduced fans to its sound with the lead single “I Know Who I Be,” featuring South African duo JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay. The reflective track celebrates his 15-year journey in the music industry, highlighting the milestones, challenges and achievements that have shaped his career.

The song’s accompanying music video takes viewers back to Davido’s childhood home, where his musical journey began, while featuring appearances from longtime collaborators and members of his team who have supported his rise to global stardom.

Speaking in a recent interview with American media platform Notion, Davido explained that ORIADÉ was intentionally designed to appeal to a broad audience, with songs tailored to different tastes and moods.

The release marks Davido’s sixth studio album and seventh major body of work since he burst onto Nigeria’s mainstream music scene over a decade ago. It follows a string of commercially successful projects that have cemented his status as one of Africa’s biggest global music stars.

With ORIADÉ, Davido once again demonstrates his ability to evolve creatively while staying true to his roots, offering fans a fresh sound as he embarks on the next phase of his celebrated career.

Peller Reveals Honeymoon Plans, Says He and Jarvis Will Visit Eight Countries

Popular Nigerian TikTok personality Peller has shared details of his honeymoon plans, revealing that he intends to travel to eight different countries with his wife after their wedding.

Speaking in a recent video, the content creator said the honeymoon will take the couple to several international destinations, including Dubai, the United Kingdom, and Canada. He also disclosed that New York is his dream destination and expressed excitement about visiting the city during their travels.

Peller’s comments come shortly after he and his longtime partner, Jarvis, officially legalised their union. The couple held a private court wedding on July 29, with the ceremony attended by close friends, family members and a few celebrities.

A moment from the court wedding quickly went viral on social media after the marriage registrar informed the newlyweds that violating their marriage vows by engaging in bigamy is a criminal offence punishable by at least five years in prison without the option of a fine. Peller humorously questioned the warning, sparking laughter and widespread reactions online.

Shortly after the engagement, Peller travelled to Benin City, where he officially paid Jarvis’ bride price during a traditional introduction ceremony. Sharing highlights from the event, he described it as the beginning of a beautiful journey and expressed gratitude to both families for their love, support and blessings.

Davido Opens Up on How Fame Nearly Drove Him to Jump Off a Balcony

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke aka Davido has spoken out about one of the most difficult times in his early career, revealing how the pressure of sudden fame once almost made him fall into depression.

In an interview titled “Davido Joins The Vibe Q,” published on VIBE Magazine’s official YouTube channel on Thursday, the singer opened up about how a private moment during one of his first international trips was exposed, leaving him emotionally shaken.

Davido said the incident happened just two months after his breakout songs propelled him to stardom, when he went to Ghana for a performance.

At the time he said he had released only a handful of songs but they had become huge hits across the continent.

“I have like one song, I have like two records, but these are like the biggest records ever,” he remembered.

The singer said he was stunned by the reception he received on arrival, comparing the excitement around him to that of global pop stars.

“Yo, it’s like a Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber kind of thing. “So I’m like, yo, we lit,” he said.

Davido said that as his popularity grew, there were new milestones every week.

“Every week is just something new.” I’m happy.” I’m like, yo, I’m blowing up every week. We’re going up the charts,’” he said.

He said he, too, was new to the experience of sudden adulation from fans, especially women.

“I am thrilled. I’m like, yo, these girls really love me.

Davido revealed how he spent the night with a woman after going to a nightclub on the Ghana trip, who took a photo of him sleeping after friends doubted her story of being with the singer.

That was my first rodeo in that. It was my first groupie… “And then I remember it was just a great night,” he said.

The next morning his manager woke him up with disturbing news.

“Open the door, he said. “He was like, ‘Calm down,’” Davido said.

He explained what happened by saying, “Apparently she was telling people like, ‘oh, I’m with Davido. They’re saying that you’re lying. And then she snapped the picture.”

The image spread fast and he started getting calls from his family.

“My daddy was calling me. “My sisters were calling me,” he told.

“It was a devastating and overwhelming experience,” Davido admitted.

“If I had seen the balcony that day I would have jumped. I was going nuts,” he said.

Reflecting on the experience, the singer said he believes his lifestyle as a young man played a part in the lesson he learned and that God used the experience to shape him.

“I was young and I liked women too much. God had to show me, believe me, God had to show me at the time,” he said.

“It gave me a lesson for life as to how to protect my privacy as a public figure,” he added.

“You’re young, you’re famous, you’re a sitting duck. “Take their phones, even if you want to have fun.” Davido said.

New lease of life for much-loved Welsh theme park after being sold

GreenWood Family Park, one of North Wales’ most popular family destinations, is entering a new chapter after being acquired by the Wood Family Group.

The attraction, located on the edge of Eryri National Park, has built a strong reputation for combining fun with environmental sustainability. The park welcomes more than 110,000 visitors every year and features over 15 rides and attractions designed for families and nature lovers.

The new owners have pledged to preserve the park’s unique identity while investing heavily in its future. Planned upgrades include brand-new rides, interactive play areas, family experiences, and improved visitor facilities.

Speaking on the acquisition, Andrew Wood, Director of the Wood Family Group, described GreenWood as a treasured attraction with a loyal fan base. He said the family is committed to protecting everything visitors love about the park while introducing fresh experiences that will keep guests coming back.

The Wood Family Group also praised the park’s staff, saying their dedication and passion will remain central to GreenWood’s continued success.

Former owner Continuum Attractions, which purchased the park in 2017, invested around £1.5 million during its ownership. The investment helped expand the attraction with new themed experiences and a Tipi Glamping village, strengthening its appeal as one of the region’s top family destinations.

Continuum Attractions CEO Andrew Pawson thanked employees, partners, and guests for supporting the park over the past seven years. He expressed confidence that the new owners would continue GreenWood’s tradition of creating memorable family experiences.

One of the park’s biggest attractions remains Solar Splash, the UK’s first solar-powered water ride. Launched in 2016, the ride uses renewable energy generated from hundreds of solar panels to power its operation, highlighting GreenWood’s long-standing commitment to sustainable tourism.

The park is also home to the Green Dragon Roller Coaster, recognized as the world’s first people-powered roller coaster, making it a standout attraction for visitors seeking unique experiences.

Tobi Bakre Reacts as Fans Campaign for Him to Become Marvel’s Next Black Panther

Nollywood actor Tobi Bakre has reacted after fans suggested he would have been the ideal choice to play the next Black Panther in Marvel Studios’ blockbuster franchise.

The conversation gained momentum after Marvel announced that British actor David Jonsson will take over the iconic role in Black Panther 3, which is slated for release in December 2028.

Following the announcement, a fan on social media named Bakre as their preferred choice for the superhero role, prompting the actor to respond with a humorous remark that quickly went viral.

Although Bakre never claimed to be in the running for the role, his playful response sparked excitement among fans, many of whom praised his charisma, acting talent and on-screen presence.

Marvel’s decision ushers in a new era for the franchise following the death of Chadwick Boseman, whose portrayal of King T’Challa became one of the most celebrated performances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Instead of recasting Boseman’s character, the studio is moving the story forward with Prince T’Challa, the late king’s son, who was introduced in the post-credit scene of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

David Jonsson, known for his roles in Alien: Romulus and The Long Walk, will headline the upcoming sequel, with Ryan Coogler returning as director. Letitia Wright and Winston Duke are also expected to reprise their roles.

While Marvel has already chosen its next Black Panther, the online support for Bakre reflects the growing desire among fans to see more Nigerian actors land leading roles in major Hollywood productions.

When asked whether people without the official wedding fabric would be allowed into the venue, Peller gave a blunt response.

“If you come without aso-ebi, you won’t enter. Just watch the wedding online,” he said.

He added that anyone who ignored the instruction should expect to remain outside the venue, insisting that access would be restricted to invited guests dressed in the approved attire.

Peller’s comments have generated mixed reactions across social media. While some fans described the decision as a practical way to control access and improve security at the event, others criticised the growing culture of expensive aso-ebi at celebrity weddings.

The influencer’s wedding to Jarvis has continued to attract widespread attention online, with fans eagerly anticipating one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year.
