Nollywood Actress Cautions Against Marrying Into Families That Reject Their Children’s Partners

Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has urged couples facing family opposition to seek understanding before ending their relationships, while also cautioning against committing to a lifetime of hostility.

In a recent interview, she encouraged partners to make genuine efforts to bridge gaps with disapproving relatives rather than walking away at the first sign of resistance. Omotola explained that some opposition may stem from long-held prejudices, including biases related to ethnicity, background, or personal beliefs, and that patience, empathy, and sincere engagement can sometimes ease tensions.

At the same time, she warned that not all family resistance can be resolved. Some relatives may appear to soften only to revert to hostility later, creating ongoing strain in a marriage. “Marriage in itself is already an institution where you’re going to face a lot. It’s a lifetime journey,” she said, noting that entering a marriage without family support could make the journey unnecessarily difficult.

Omotola emphasized that couples should consider the long-term implications of marrying into a family that opposes their relationship. While love is important, a lack of family backing can lead to constant conflict and emotional stress, making a healthy, lasting partnership much harder to maintain. Her advice highlights the importance of balancing emotional connection with a supportive environment, encouraging couples to invest in understanding but also to recognize when opposition may be impossible to overcome.

960 Music Group vs. Aristokrat Records: Court Adjourns Case to April 20 After Defendant Fails to Appear

Efforts to resolve the ongoing legal dispute between 960 Music Group and Aristokrat Records over the ownership of Burna Boy’s early music catalogue suffered another setback yesterday at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The criminal proceedings, which allege fraudulent conversion and breach of fiduciary duty against Aristokrat Records founder Piriye Isokrari, were adjourned to April 20, 2025, after the defendant failed to appear in court.

His absence once again stalled the high-profile case, which has drawn significant attention within Nigeria’s music industry. 960 Music Group, an investor in Aristokrat Records, initiated the action following claims that the sale of Burna Boy’s back catalogue to his current label, Spaceship Music, was carried out without its knowledge or approval.

Sources familiar with the matter say frustration is mounting over the repeated delays that have marked the proceedings. The charges, filed by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), accuse Isokrari of diverting proceeds from the reported multi-million-dollar sale away from company accounts, allegedly defrauding 960 Music Group in the process.

The case was first mentioned in December 2025 and adjourned to February 10, 2026. On both occasions, neither the defendant nor his representatives appeared in court. Yesterday’s adjournment to April 20, 2025, further prolongs a legal battle that could have significant implications for music rights ownership and investment structures in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Carving Lanes Through Sound, Culture, and Identity

Reedivah Da Queen’s story unfolds in layers. She is a Malawian-Zimbabwean musician, actor, graphic designer, radio show producer, and fashion designer, and every part of her life feeds into the art she creates.

Her music is layered and expressive, shaped by years of exploring different sounds and cultures. From Dance and Tribal House to Jazz and Classical music, Reedivah’s sound reflects a deep curiosity and a strong connection to African rhythm and storytelling. It is music that feels rooted, yet open to the world.

Reedivah officially began her music journey in Swaziland in 2014, a period she often credits as a turning point. While there, she worked closely with some of the country’s finest artists, including Shinely Greenz and Mvilas. Those early collaborations helped sharpen her confidence and gave her room to experiment with sound, performance, and identity.

Her work has since traveled far beyond Southern Africa. Over the years, she has collaborated with American songwriter Ruth Garness, worked on projects with Niel from Mexico, and shared creative space with Durban-based artist Thabile Mtshali, Zululand poet Inyosika Majola, and the legendary South African singer Nonhlanhla Dlomo. Each collaboration reflects her openness to learning and her ability to blend cultures without losing her voice.

The name “Da Queen” is deeply personal to Reedivah. It is not a performance title or a marketing tool. It speaks to her understanding of self, her pride as an African woman, and her belief in dignity, respect, and purpose. Through this identity, she positions herself firmly in her rightful place while celebrating heritage and strength.

On stage, Reedivah Da Queen is commanding and expressive. She does not follow trends. Instead, she creates her own path, allowing her performances to feel honest and emotionally rich. Audiences are often drawn not just to her voice, but to the sincerity behind it. Her music carries lived experiences and African tradition, applied thoughtfully through modern expression.

With her music and visuals currently gaining attention across platforms such as YouTube and Spotify, Reedivah continues to build a body of work that feels intentional and true to who she is. Every release adds another chapter to her story as an artist who values substance over spectacle.

In an industry that often rewards conformity, Reedivah Da Queen stands out by remaining grounded, creative, and unapologetically African. She is not simply making music. She is preserving culture, sharing perspective, and showing what it means to create from a place of truth.

Britney Spears Shocks Fans with Full Music Catalog Sale

Pop icon Britney Spears has reportedly sold the rights to her entire music catalogue in a deal said to be worth around $200 million (£146 million).

The 44-year-old singer is understood to have reached an agreement with independent music publisher Primary Wave on 30 December. Neither Primary Wave nor Spears’ representatives responded to requests for comment.

Spears is behind a string of global hits including …Baby One More Time, Oops!… I Did It Again, Toxic and Gimme More. In January 2024, she said she would “never return to the music industry.” Her most recent release was a 2022 duet with Elton John.

Primary Wave has previously acquired rights connected to major artists and estates including The Notorious B.I.G., Prince and Whitney Houston. However, full details of Spears’ deal — including the exact terms and final price — have not been publicly disclosed.

Spears joins a growing list of high-profile artists who have sold their catalogues in recent years. Bruce Springsteen sold his back catalogue to Sony in 2021 for a reported $500 million, while Justin Bieber is said to have struck a $200 million deal with Hipgnosis Songs Capital in 2023. Other artists, including Justin Timberlake and Shakira, have also made similar moves.

Founded two decades ago by music executive Lawrence Mestel, Primary Wave began after he acquired 50% of Kurt Cobain’s share of the Nirvana catalogue.

One of the best-selling female artists of all time, Spears has sold more than 150 million records worldwide and released nine studio albums since her 1999 debut.

The reported sale follows a turbulent period in her personal life. In 2021, Spears ended a 13-year conservatorship that gave her father control over her finances and key aspects of her life. She later detailed her experiences in her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me. Her former husband, Kevin Federline, released his own memoir, You Thought You Knew, in late 2025.

Tems Makes History as First African Female Artist with 7 Billboard Hot 100 Entries

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has made history as the first African female artist to record seven entries on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

She reached the milestone after her song “What You Need” debuted at No. 93 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, bringing her total number of entries on the chart to seven.

With this achievement, Tems now ties with fellow Nigerian star Burna Boy and South African rock band Seether as the African artists with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries, at seven each.

In 2022, Tems also became the first African artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, thanks to her collaboration with Future and Drake on “Wait For U.”

She may soon take the lead, as J. Cole’s “Bunce Road Blues,” featuring Tems and Future, is projected to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 next week.

How Allegations of Wife Beating Almost Destroyed My Marriage – Teddy A Opens Up

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tope Adenibuyan, popularly known as Teddy A, has spoken candidly about the deep emotional and reputational toll caused by false allegations that he physically abused his wife, Bamike “Bambam” Olawunmi-Adenibuyan.

In a recent interview, Teddy A described the claims — which accused him of beating his pregnant wife — as completely fabricated, shocking, and devastating for his family.

He recounted the day the rumours exploded online:

“I woke up, went downstairs, and my wife was there watching a movie. She was pregnant and laughing. There was no sign of any trouble in our home.”

Teddy A said he only realized something was wrong when his phone began receiving an unusual flood of notifications.

“I hadn’t posted anything. I was wondering what was trending and why my phone was blowing up,” he recalled.

As he scrolled through comments and messages, he watched his wife become emotional and confused.

“She kept asking who could do this to us. Honestly, I didn’t know where it came from,” he said.

The allegations quickly gained traction on social media, sparking widespread speculation and debate. Teddy A revealed that he consulted his manager, who advised him to stay silent and let the storm pass.

Looking back, he now believes that decision was a mistake.

“At the time, I didn’t understand the damage staying silent would do. Even now, years later, when my wife and I post photos or videos, people still comment and ask if I beat her.”

He admitted the experience left lasting scars.

“It affected me because people began to see me in a way that wasn’t true,” he said.

Teddy A’s honest reflection has once again brought attention to the serious long-term consequences of unverified allegations, the speed at which false narratives can spread online, and the importance of addressing damaging rumours quickly and directly.

To date, neither Teddy A nor Bambam has ever confirmed any incident of domestic violence. The couple, who share a daughter and have remained publicly united, continue to focus on their family and careers despite the lingering shadow of the old claims.

Tonto Dikeh Posts Heartwarming Video of Son’s Reunion with Father, Ignites Uplifting Faith Reactions Online

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has sparked an outpouring of heartfelt reactions online after sharing an emotional video of her son, King Andre, reuniting with his father, Olakunle Churchill, following a decade of estrangement.

Posted on her verified Instagram account, the clip shows a serene yet deeply moving encounter between father and son—likely in an office-like setting—where their body language and quiet interaction convey genuine reconnection, even without clear audio.

The moment quickly went viral, with fans hailing it as profoundly touching and a powerful example of prioritizing a child’s needs above past conflicts. Many highlighted the value of a father’s presence in a child’s life and praised Dikeh’s maturity in facilitating the reunion for her son’s emotional well-being.

The post ignited broader discussions on co-parenting, forgiveness, reconciliation, and healing—especially in high-profile separations—while emphasizing grace over grudges.

Accompanying the video, Dikeh penned a reflective, faith-centered caption celebrating divine restoration and transformation. She wrote: “God has a way of rewriting stories men thought were over. This is grace speaking… and hearts for Jesus obeying. Time failed. Grace prevailed. Time could not cancel what God ordained. Restoration has a voice and today it spoke.”

She gave special thanks to her spiritual mentor, Pastor Jerry Eze (@realjerryeze), calling him her “spiritual father” and crediting his guidance for her growth: “Through you, God transformed who I once was into the woman I am becoming—strong, grounded, and full of His grace.”

Dikeh closed with her signature declaration that resonated widely: “What God cannot do does not exist.”

This development aligns with her recent public statements on personal healing, faith, and forgiveness, framing the reunion as a tangible fulfillment of that journey rather than an abrupt shift.
