According to Anita, marriage is about showing the lovely moments, noting that when people are in love, they must go all out for their spouses.

He also rejected claims that Anita financially supported him throughout their marriage.

The entertainer further alleged that his financial situation became strained because of the expenses he incurred while trying to maintain the lifestyle. He also claimed that Anita had not been able to maintain the same standard of living since their separation.

BBNaija Star Mercedes Appeals to Don Jazzy for Housing Assistance Over Safety Concerns

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Ijeoma Emi, popularly known as Mercedes, has appealed to Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy for help securing accommodation, explaining that she no longer feels safe or comfortable in her current residence.

The 26-year-old entrepreneur and performance artist made the emotional appeal on social media, where she opened up about the challenges she has faced since leaving the reality television show.

According to Mercedes, although appearing on Big Brother Naija gave her public exposure, it did not automatically translate into financial stability or guarantee the successful career many people assume former housemates enjoy.

She explained that she has been working hard to rebuild her life and establish herself professionally, describing herself as a young woman still trying to find her place in the world.

In her message addressed to Don Jazzy, the reality star said having a home of her own would provide the security, independence and peace of mind she needs to concentrate on her ambitions.

She wrote that she did not always feel safe or comfortable in her present accommodation and hoped the music executive could help her begin a new chapter.

Mercedes also disclosed that her living conditions had affected her development as a content creator and pole dancer.

She explained that the ceiling in her current residence was unsuitable for installing a dance pole, forcing her to practise on the balcony instead.

However, the outdoor environment exposes her training sessions to changing weather conditions, including sunshine and rainfall, which frequently interrupt her practice.

The former housemate said a suitable apartment would enable her to install her equipment safely, train consistently, create content and improve her performance skills.

Emphasising that she was not seeking an extravagant lifestyle, Mercedes said her primary desire was to become independent, feel secure and have an environment that supports her professional growth.

She acknowledged that Don Jazzy likely receives numerous requests for assistance but expressed hope that he would understand the sincerity of her appeal.

Her message has attracted reactions online, with several fans calling for support for the former reality television contestant.

The appeal has also highlighted the difficulties some reality television personalities may encounter when attempting to turn the visibility gained from entertainment programmes into sustainable careers.

For Mercedes, securing appropriate accommodation would represent more than finding a new place to live. She believes it would provide an opportunity to regain stability and focus on developing her talents.

As of the time of the report, no response from Don Jazzy was included in the available information.

Ruth Kadiri Advises Young Couples Against Lavish Weddings, Says Simple Ceremony Helped Her Marriage

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has advised young couples against succumbing to societal pressure to organise elaborate wedding ceremonies, warning that the desire to impress others can create unnecessary mental, emotional and financial burdens for newlyweds.

The actress shared her views in a video message posted on her Instagram page, where she argued that many intending couples underestimate the pressure associated with expensive weddings and how it can affect their transition into married life.

According to Kadiri, a wedding ceremony should not become a source of anxiety for couples who are preparing to begin a lifelong commitment.

She explained that although two people may enjoy a stable relationship while dating, the expectations and stress surrounding an elaborate wedding can introduce additional pressure into their union.

“I do think that big weddings put pressure on couples; it puts pressure on the marriage itself. Big weddings put pressure on people, and they don’t seem to have realised that,” she said.

Kadiri stressed that her concerns extended beyond financial expenses to include mental health and the emotional challenges associated with marriage.

She observed that some people already have fears about marriage, and the additional demands of organising a large ceremony could make the transition more difficult.

The filmmaker, who said she had been married for seven years, maintained that her personal experience informed her position on keeping wedding celebrations simple.

She suggested that avoiding an elaborate wedding may have contributed to the stability she has enjoyed in her marriage.

“I never had that kind of marriage, I didn’t, and I feel like it’s part of why I’m successful,” she said, comparing her experience with cases of couples who separate shortly after getting married.

Kadiri encouraged intending couples to consider modest traditional ceremonies involving close family members, followed by a small civil wedding attended by about 30 guests.

She also recommended inviting a pastor to pray for the couple before they return home to begin their married life.

According to her, a simple ceremony allows couples to concentrate on building their relationship rather than worrying about expenses, public expectations or the need to impress guests.

The actress further expressed concern about what she described as the spiritual vulnerability associated with inviting people into private family celebrations. She claimed that some couples encounter difficulties, including challenges with having children, because of people present at their weddings. These assertions were her personal views and were not accompanied by evidence establishing a causal connection.

Beyond marriage ceremonies, Kadiri called for a change in societal expectations, particularly the pressure parents place on young people to become successful quickly and provide financial support.

She urged parents to reconsider expectations that could place unnecessary burdens on their children.

Her message encouraged couples and families to prioritise emotional wellbeing, financial responsibility and the long-term success of marriage over extravagant celebrations.

Investigations Find No Evidence to Support Allegations Against Late Cambridge Professor

Four formal investigations reportedly failed to substantiate plagiarism allegations against late British sociologist Professor Jason Arday, according to a report published by Byline Times on October 21, 2026.

The findings have renewed attention to the circumstances surrounding Arday’s departure from the University of Cambridge and the allegations that emerged before his death at the age of 41.

Arday, who served as Professor of Sociology of Education at Cambridge, was found dead at his home in south London months after resigning from the institution amid plagiarism allegations and questions about aspects of his professional history.

The Metropolitan Police reportedly described his death as unexpected but not suspicious. Officers were called to his address by the London Ambulance Service shortly after 3 p.m. on a Friday, where he was pronounced dead.

According to Byline Times, four formal investigations did not establish the plagiarism claims against the academic. Academic publisher Taylor & Francis also reportedly conducted a separate investigation that appeared to conclude without substantiating the allegations.

The reported findings have raised questions about the basis of the accusations and the processes through which they were investigated.

During his academic career, Arday focused on race, inequality and social justice, contributing to discussions about educational opportunities and structural barriers within society.

His departure from Cambridge and subsequent death attracted attention to the treatment of academics facing allegations that could affect their careers and reputations.

The latest report has also renewed discussion about the responsibilities of universities and academic publishers when handling allegations of misconduct.

Although the reported investigations failed to substantiate the claims, the available account does not provide the full findings or methodologies of each inquiry.

The case underscores the importance of impartial investigations, transparent procedures and careful communication when allegations of academic misconduct arise.

The findings cited here are based on the Byline Times report published on October 21, 2026.

‘Respect Should Be Reciprocal’: Jarvis Addresses Critics Amid Peller Family Drama

TikTok personality Jarvis has responded to critics urging her to respect her husband, fellow content creator Peller, amid their ongoing family controversy, insisting that respect should be mutual in relationships.

In a recent response, Jarvis questioned why people continued lecturing her about respect, arguing that people should stop judging her without considering how she is treated.

“I don’t know why you people are teaching me what respect is. Can you people stop all this respect, respect? I don’t have. It’s not there,” she said.

She maintained that people often reflect the treatment they receive from others, stressing that relationships require equal effort and consideration from both parties.

“Women, we’re reflection of whatever is given to us. Whatever you show, that’s what we reflect back,” Jarvis stated, adding that respect and treatment should be reciprocal.

The TikToker also claimed that she is usually calm but becomes provoked by certain situations, before dismissing further arguments over the controversy.

Meanwhile, Jarvis appealed to the public to stop involving her younger sister, Divine, in the ongoing drama.

She explained that Divine previously participated in their online activities but eventually withdrew because she was not interested in live streaming. Jarvis added that she had attempted to involve her sister in other activities, including her wedding, but the efforts were unsuccessful.

“You can’t force somebody,” she said.

Jarvis urged critics to allow her sister to stay away from the controversy, emphasising that while she could handle public criticism, Divine should be left alone.

“Please, please do not stress my sister, okay? You people can stress me, but don’t stress her,” she added.

Actor Rex Nosa: YouTube Has Turned Many of Us Into Enemies

Nollywood actor Rex Nosa has explained how strategic planning, foresight and adapting to changes in the entertainment industry helped him move beyond his early reputation as an Asaba-based actor to become a nationally recognised entertainer.

The actor, who described his time in Asaba as an important foundation for his career, said his journey was guided by a clear vision of where he wanted to be in the industry.

According to him, his decision to work in Asaba was intentional, as the location offered opportunities to build experience during a period when film marketers largely controlled Nigeria’s movie industry.

Nosa clarified that although many people associate him with Asaba, he was born and raised in Lagos, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He moved to Asaba after graduating from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, to pursue acting.

He explained that several established actors had begun their careers through grassroots film productions in Asaba and Enugu before expanding their reach.

“I knew I needed to build a solid foundation in the industry and eventually move back to Lagos,” he said, stressing that his career decisions were guided by long-term goals.

Nosa noted that understanding the right time to evolve and move forward was crucial to his professional growth.

He added that his ability to recognise industry trends and position himself accordingly helped him transition beyond his initial career base.

The actor’s experience highlights the importance of having a clear vision, building a strong foundation and embracing change in an increasingly competitive entertainment industry.

The interview also raised questions about how Nosa’s academic background in Mechanical Engineering influenced his eventual entry into acting.

Nigerian actor and content creator Rex Nosa has spoken about the changing relationships among entertainers in the YouTube era, saying the growing competition for online audiences has affected the spirit of collaboration within the industry.

The actor, who has built a presence through movie productions and comedy content, said some entertainers have become increasingly distant from one another as they concentrate on developing their individual YouTube channels and businesses.

In an interview, Rex Nosa explained that although the platform has created opportunities for actors to produce and distribute their own films, it has also introduced new challenges involving investment, competition and professional relationships.

“YouTube has also turned many of us into enemies in some ways. Some people no longer answer one another’s calls, and we hardly hang out or spend time together,” he said.

According to the actor, the pressure of managing personal productions can make entertainers suspicious of calls from colleagues, particularly when they assume that every conversation may involve a request for assistance or collaboration.

He, however, maintained that actors should not abandon professional relationships simply because they are building competing businesses, stressing that nobody can predict how circumstances may change in the future.

How acting became his career

Rex Nosa disclosed that his journey into acting began long before he formally entered the Nigerian film industry. As a child, he participated in church dramas, led songs during services and played the drums.

He recalled enjoying opportunities to entertain people during church activities, adding that he sometimes asked people to interview him after children’s drama performances because he wanted to experience the excitement of being treated like a star.

However, acting became a professional career after his graduation. During his 300-level industrial training in Asaba, Delta State, he encountered several actors and became interested in living in a place where he could interact with people in the industry.

After graduation, he moved to Asaba and began looking for opportunities to participate in movie productions.

His first major step came when he discovered an audition but was informed that he needed to register with the Actors Guild of Nigeria before participating.

He immediately registered and obtained a temporary membership card, which allowed him to attend the audition.

Rex Nosa said he later received a telephone call informing him that he had been selected. That opportunity marked the beginning of his professional acting journey in 2010.

He admitted that he initially knew little about filmmaking techniques, recalling how he once attempted to leave a set after what he thought was the completion of a scene, only to be told that the production team still needed close-up shots.

He said most of his knowledge of acting and film production came from practical experience on set.

Funke Akindele gave him a wider audience

The actor also discussed his experience working with filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele on the popular television sitcom Jenifa’s Diary.

According to him, he knew Akindele before the series because they had worked together on productions in the eastern part of Nigeria.

He recalled seeing her and a writer working on the concept for the sitcom during breaks on a movie set in Awka.

Akindele later contacted him about joining the series, but his existing filming commitments in Asaba initially prevented him from accepting the opportunity.

He eventually joined the production around its seventh season, when the sitcom had already gained significant popularity.

Rex Nosa explained that the role gave him an opportunity to reach audiences in Lagos and demonstrate his ability to portray characters beyond the roles he commonly played in eastern Nigerian productions.

He travelled from Asaba to Lagos for filming, sometimes leaving at about 4 a.m. to arrive on set for morning call times.

The actor expressed appreciation to Akindele for giving him the opportunity, noting that distance could have discouraged some producers from working with him.

He also recalled an occasion when he had started travelling back to Asaba after filming but was called to return to Lagos because of an error in the footage. He returned, completed the necessary scenes and resumed his journey.

YouTube has changed actors’ earnings

Rex Nosa said the Nigerian film industry has undergone significant changes since the period when marketers financed productions and movies were widely distributed on DVDs.

He explained that marketers previously played a major role in determining the films produced and providing the funds required for production. This arrangement enabled actors to participate in movies regularly.

However, he argued that the present YouTube-driven model requires many filmmakers to finance their own projects without any guarantee of recovering their investments.

He noted that the industry now offers creators greater independence, but that freedom comes with additional financial risks.

The actor currently operates his own YouTube channel while continuing to feature in other people’s productions, including projects released on the same platform.

He said he believes collaboration remains necessary because entertainers may need one another’s support in the future.

Although he now gives greater attention to his personal projects, he continues accepting selected roles in other productions, organising his schedule around his frequent travels between Nigeria and London.

Marriage, family and his online identity

Rex Nosa disclosed that he has been married since 2015 and has children. His family lives in London, which contributes to his frequent travel between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

He credited his wife for supporting his entertainment career and helping him maintain a stable family life despite the demands of the industry.

The actor said they maintain open communication about his professional activities, including the content he publishes online.

He explained that his wife sometimes reviews his photographs before publication and has even recorded some of his social media content.

According to him, their understanding allows him to pursue his career while respecting his wife’s concerns and maintaining trust within their marriage.

He also explained that his sensual comedy content was developed partly to distinguish himself from other actors and create a recognisable identity online.

Rex Nosa said he had always enjoyed making his friends laugh and decided to turn that natural tendency into a distinctive form of entertainment.

He acknowledged that some people might disapprove of the content but maintained that he creates it for entertainment rather than to attract romantic attention.

His ambitions and advice to upcoming actors

Looking ahead, Rex Nosa said he hopes to participate in major productions that would allow audiences to see different sides of his acting abilities.

He expressed interest in playing twins with contrasting personalities and potentially portraying multiple characters in one film.

However, he acknowledged that commercial considerations influence his decisions, particularly because comedy currently provides business opportunities.

He also urged audiences to watch Couple in Power, a film he made with actress Tara Matu.

Advising aspiring actors, Rex Nosa encouraged them to believe in themselves, leave their comfort zones and use social media to showcase their abilities.

He said emerging actors should record their performances, publish engaging content and tag producers who might be interested in their talents.

The actor explained that he began creating comedy content because suitable roles were not coming his way, demonstrating that entertainers can create opportunities rather than wait for others to discover them.

He further advised young people to avoid discouraging influences, surround themselves with supportive individuals and remain committed to developing their skills.

For Rex Nosa, success in the entertainment industry requires talent, initiative, professional relationships and the courage to create a distinctive identity.

Coach Nazzy Reveals How He Built a Digital Brand and Created Jobs Through Content Creation

Nigerian digital content creator and entrepreneur Chinaza Joy Osigwe, popularly known as Coach Nazzy, has revealed how building her social media presence has created income opportunities, attracted business partnerships and enabled her to employ people to support her growing digital operations.

Osigwe, who has established an audience on TikTok and Telegram, said her activities on the platforms have opened doors to paid promotions, brand collaborations and marketing campaigns. She explained that her digital presence has also helped her establish relationships with businesses and fellow content creators.

According to her, social media can serve as more than a platform for entertainment and self-expression when creators understand how to turn their audience and influence into sustainable business opportunities.

“My digital presence has created opportunities through paid promotions, brand collaborations and campaigns across TikTok and Telegram. It has also connected me with businesses and other creators,” she said.

The entrepreneur noted, however, that building an audience is only one aspect of establishing a successful digital brand. She explained that creators must also learn how to manage business relationships, negotiate appropriate fees and agree on the specific services expected from each partnership.

“Building an audience opened doors, but managing those relationships takes work,” Osigwe stated.

She stressed that professionalism is essential in the digital industry, particularly when working with brands and clients who expect agreed services to be delivered within specified timelines.

Osigwe also disclosed that her growing business activities had allowed her to employ people to assist with content posting and the everyday management of her platforms.

She explained that her decision to recruit additional hands followed an assessment of the responsibilities requiring regular attention and the areas where delays were affecting her productivity.

Rather than attempting to handle every task alone, she identified activities that could be delegated to other people, allowing her to organise her work more effectively.

According to her, reliability, effective communication and a willingness to learn are among the qualities she considers when selecting people to join her team.

“Someone should be able to follow instructions, meet agreed deadlines and let me know early if there is a problem,” she added.

The content creator said creating paid employment for others holds particular significance for her because of her background and her understanding of how access to opportunities can influence people’s lives.

She encouraged established digital creators to extend similar opportunities to young Nigerians by working with emerging talents, promoting small businesses and sharing practical knowledge about the industry.

Osigwe explained that creators could contribute to the growth of others by connecting small businesses with potential customers, recommending competent individuals for paid assignments and helping newcomers understand the demands of working with clients.

She also emphasised the importance of fairness in professional collaborations, noting that people should receive appropriate recognition for their contributions.

“Sometimes, giving someone credit and visibility for good work can lead to their next opportunity. The important thing is to make those collaborations fair and respect what each person contributes,” she said.

Reflecting on her growth on TikTok, Osigwe attributed part of her audience development to her personality, communication style and the relationship she has built with her followers.

She said expressing herself openly has helped people identify with her voice and style, while consistent engagement has enabled her to understand the interests of her audience.

“I believe my personality and the connection I have built with my audience have contributed a lot. I express myself openly, and people recognise my voice and style,” she explained.

She added that maintaining an active presence requires consistency and a willingness to create content that gives followers something meaningful or relatable whenever they visit her page.

Osigwe said the Coach Nazzy brand has gradually developed from a platform for self-expression into a professional identity that requires careful attention to reputation, business decisions and long-term objectives.

“Today, Coach Nazzy represents confidence, ambition and a woman working to build a better life through digital opportunities,” she said.

According to her, the responsibilities associated with the brand have increased alongside its growth, making it necessary to consider the potential consequences of the opportunities she accepts.

She explained that she now pays closer attention to her public image, the quality of her partnerships and how individual decisions could influence the future of her business.

With competition increasing across social media platforms, Osigwe said she monitors audience reactions, follows changes in the digital industry and looks for ways to improve her communication without losing the personality that distinguishes her brand.

She believes creators can benefit from emerging trends but should avoid allowing them to completely determine their content direction.

“Trends can be useful, but I want people to recognise my personality in what I create. Staying relevant means being willing to learn while understanding what people already value about your work,” she said.

The entrepreneur also explained that she measures success through more than follower counts, views and likes. For her, meaningful audience engagement, successful business partnerships and the ability to support her family are equally important indicators.

She said repeat clients and collaborations that achieve their agreed objectives provide stronger indications of business progress than online popularity alone.

Osigwe advised aspiring content creators not to assume that attracting a large audience automatically guarantees financial success.

She maintained that businesses expect creators to communicate professionally, establish clear agreements and deliver the services they have promised.

For young Nigerians interested in the industry, she recommended starting with available resources instead of waiting until they can afford expensive equipment.

She encouraged beginners to prioritise clear sound, adequate lighting, useful content and a manageable posting schedule while learning from audience feedback.

She also advised creators to establish clear fees, document business agreements and monitor expenses as they begin earning money from their platforms.

Looking ahead, Osigwe said she hopes to strengthen the Coach Nazzy brand’s reputation for professionalism, meaningful collaborations and supporting other people’s growth.

She added that she intends to share more practical lessons from her experience, particularly with young women seeking digital skills, income opportunities and greater financial independence.

Her experience highlights how consistent content creation, audience engagement and business discipline can help transform social media activities into a professional enterprise capable of generating income and creating employment opportunities.
