BBNaija Star Mercedes Appeals to Don Jazzy for Housing Assistance Over Safety Concerns

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Ijeoma Emi, popularly known as Mercedes, has appealed to Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy for help securing accommodation, explaining that she no longer feels safe or comfortable in her current residence.

The 26-year-old entrepreneur and performance artist made the emotional appeal on social media, where she opened up about the challenges she has faced since leaving the reality television show.

According to Mercedes, although appearing on Big Brother Naija gave her public exposure, it did not automatically translate into financial stability or guarantee the successful career many people assume former housemates enjoy.

She explained that she has been working hard to rebuild her life and establish herself professionally, describing herself as a young woman still trying to find her place in the world.

In her message addressed to Don Jazzy, the reality star said having a home of her own would provide the security, independence and peace of mind she needs to concentrate on her ambitions.

She wrote that she did not always feel safe or comfortable in her present accommodation and hoped the music executive could help her begin a new chapter.

Mercedes also disclosed that her living conditions had affected her development as a content creator and pole dancer.

She explained that the ceiling in her current residence was unsuitable for installing a dance pole, forcing her to practise on the balcony instead.

However, the outdoor environment exposes her training sessions to changing weather conditions, including sunshine and rainfall, which frequently interrupt her practice.

The former housemate said a suitable apartment would enable her to install her equipment safely, train consistently, create content and improve her performance skills.

Emphasising that she was not seeking an extravagant lifestyle, Mercedes said her primary desire was to become independent, feel secure and have an environment that supports her professional growth.

She acknowledged that Don Jazzy likely receives numerous requests for assistance but expressed hope that he would understand the sincerity of her appeal.

Her message has attracted reactions online, with several fans calling for support for the former reality television contestant.

The appeal has also highlighted the difficulties some reality television personalities may encounter when attempting to turn the visibility gained from entertainment programmes into sustainable careers.

For Mercedes, securing appropriate accommodation would represent more than finding a new place to live. She believes it would provide an opportunity to regain stability and focus on developing her talents.
