According to Tochi, a woman who could potentially become a doctor, entrepreneur or leader may eventually become identified mainly through her role as a wife.

He stressed that his position was not against marriage itself, but about the importance of choosing the right time to settle down.

Tochi encouraged young women to complete their education, acquire useful skills and work towards financial independence before marriage.

He maintained that having a strong personal foundation could help women enter marriage without abandoning the ambitions they had developed before starting a family.

“If someone can destroy a country in three years, with ease, another person can make it better,” Olabanji stated.

He further argued that Nigerians should be willing to consider leaders from outside their ethnic groups if they believe such candidates can provide better governance.

Olabanji specifically cited the shorter tenure of Murtala Muhammed compared with Gowon’s administration before asking Nigerians to consider Obi’s candidacy on leadership grounds.

Peter Obi is the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 election. He secured the party’s presidential ticket in May 2026 and later announced former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate.

Anambra Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, Law Mefor, said the state government was not interested in indicting Obi and described the disagreement between him and Governor Charles Soludo as a political matter.

The controversy followed the state government’s release of records concerning loans and other financial obligations associated with projects during Obi’s administration. The government said eight external loans had an outstanding balance of $92.35 million, valued at about ₦127.37 billion as of June 30, 2026. Obi has disputed the claims.

Life Taught Us – Iyabo Ojo Reconciles With Toyin Lawani After Feud

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has reconciled with celebrity fashion designer Toyin Lawani after years of estrangement between the two personalities.

Iyabo announced the development on Instagram on Thursday, sharing photographs of herself with Toyin and reflecting on the value of genuine friendship.

The actress described their reconciliation as a reminder that real friendships can survive disagreements and periods of separation.

Tagging Toyin Lawani, she wrote: “Life taught us that real friendships aren’t perfect, they are real. We had our moment apart, but real friendship always finds its way back.”

The reconciliation marks a significant development in the relationship between the two women, who were once close friends and were also associated with the reality television show The Real Housewives of Lagos.

Their friendship reportedly became strained around 2022 following a public disagreement.

The dispute was linked partly to Toyin’s relationship with Laura Ikeji, who had previously been involved in disagreements with Iyabo.

During the period of tension, Iyabo questioned Toyin’s reported closeness to Laura and accused her of gossiping.

Toyin, meanwhile, openly supported Laura, further contributing to the disagreement between the two women.

The fallout eventually extended to social media, where Iyabo and Toyin unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Their strained relationship was also noticeable during some family events. Toyin reportedly missed certain celebrations involving Iyabo’s daughter, Priscilla, despite previously being close to the family.

However, signs of a possible reconciliation began emerging when the two celebrities followed each other again on Instagram.

The latest photographs shared by Iyabo now appear to confirm that the relationship has moved beyond the earlier social media reconciliation.

The actress’s message emphasized forgiveness, understanding and the ability of genuine friendships to survive difficult periods.

Her post has attracted reactions from fans and followers, many of whom have welcomed the renewed relationship between the two celebrities.

The reconciliation brings an apparent end to a long period of estrangement between Iyabo and Toyin, who have now publicly shown that their friendship can recover after years of disagreement.

TG Omori Reveals He Spent N31 Million on Kidney Transplant

Nigerian music video director, ThankGod Omori, popularly known as TG Omori, has revealed that he spent about ₦31 million on a kidney transplant after battling kidney failure.
Omori said the financial burden of treatment was so heavy that even earning a monthly salary of ₦1 million would not have been enough to cover the cost of his care.

It was reported that the music video director spoke during an interview on the Afropolitan podcast published on YouTube on Wednesday, where he opened up about his experience with kidney failure, dialysis and his eventual transplant.

According to Omori, dialysis costs between ₦50,000 and ₦70,000 per session at some hospitals.
He said he paid much more at a private facility, where a session cost between ₦150,000 and ₦200,000.

Omori explained that patients undergoing dialysis could require up to three sessions every week, pushing the weekly cost to between ₦500,000 and ₦600,000.

“I spent a lot on surgery. Dialysis costs ₦70k a day, but at an exclusive place, I sometimes had 3 sessions a week, costing ₦500k. A minimum-wage person wouldn’t cope. I waited a year for a transplant, which cost ₦31m.

“So, a minimum-wage person is dead already on one session,” he said.

He estimated that a patient could spend as much as ₦31 million on dialysis and treatment over about a year while waiting for a transplant, excluding additional expenses on tests, medication and possible complications.

Omori also spoke about his first attempt to receive a kidney from his brother.

He said it took about nine months to find a donor before doctors discovered that the kidney was not compatible with his body.

“My brother gave me his kidney after it took us 9 months to find a donor. The doctor said my body wasn’t accepting it, that it didn’t match.

“The doctor tried again, but it wasn’t responding. I was pissed, and they said they would have to take me back to see how they could make my body accept it. My brother still has to live with only one kidney,” he said.

‘₦1 Million Salary Can’t Serve You’
Reflecting on the financial pressure he experienced during his treatment, Omori said earning ₦1 million every month would still not have been enough to meet the expenses.

“So, automatically, if your salary is even one million naira a month, it can’t serve you,” he said.

The experience, he added, changed his understanding of the importance of money and financial support during serious health challenges.

“Even though money can’t buy happiness, money can still buy some time,” Omori said.

Omori had disclosed in 2024 that he underwent a kidney transplant, revealing that his only brother donated one of his kidneys to him.

He also shared a photograph of himself receiving treatment in a hospital at the time, with the caption, “Keep my spirit alive.”
