Jide Kosoko Defends Tinubu, Says Nigeria’s Hardship Is Exaggerated

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, arguing that Nigeria’s economic situation is not as bad as some people portray it.

Kosoko made the remarks during an interview with actress Biola Bayo, where he questioned claims of widespread hunger and hardship across the country.

According to the actor, the economic challenges facing Nigerians should be considered alongside the conditions that existed before Tinubu assumed office.

“Things aren’t as bad as people make them out to be. I am hungry; check most of those people. Before Tinubu came, what were they eating?” he said.

Kosoko acknowledged that the country continues to face significant difficulties but maintained that the President inherited numerous problems and was working to address them.

“Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying things are rosy; there are too many issues at hand which Bola Ahmed Tinubu is now fixing,” he stated.

The veteran actor also urged beneficiaries of government policies, particularly students, to publicly acknowledge the administration’s efforts.

He further argued that political opponents were allowing personal ambitions to influence their assessment of Tinubu’s performance.

“Many of the beneficiaries of what Tinubu is doing for the students should speak out. Tinubu’s opponents know the truth: the man is on the right track, but ambition has clouded their judgment,” Kosoko added.

His comments have added to ongoing public discussions about the administration’s economic policies and their impact on Nigerians.
