Good Music, Consistency Are the Real Currency in Entertainment – Aayo

Rising Afrobeats singer Akinde Ayodeji, popularly known as Aayo, has advised aspiring musicians to focus on creating quality music and remain consistent, saying talent alone is not enough to build a successful career in the entertainment industry.

Speaking during a recent media interview, the singer said the music industry has become increasingly competitive, making it important for artistes to stand out through originality, discipline and dedication to their craft.

According to Aayo, good music remains the foundation of every lasting career, regardless of trends or social media popularity.

“The industry may be driven by trends, promotion and social media, but in the end, good music is what survives. A great song has the power to connect with people across cultures and generations. If your music is genuine and meaningful, it will always find its audience,” he said.

The singer noted that while social media can help an artiste gain attention quickly, sustaining success requires consistency and continuous improvement.

He encouraged young musicians not to be discouraged by slow progress, stressing that many successful artistes overcame rejection and setbacks before achieving recognition.

“Success doesn’t happen overnight. Every successful artiste has a story of rejection, disappointment and difficult moments. The difference is that they kept going,” Aayo added.

He also urged emerging talents to improve their songwriting, vocal delivery and stage performance while remaining open to constructive criticism.

Beyond talent, Aayo highlighted the importance of professionalism, advising artistes to invest in quality production, branding and strategic promotion instead of relying solely on luck.

He further encouraged musicians to use their influence positively by creating songs that inspire, educate and give hope to listeners.

Concluding his message, Aayo urged upcoming entertainers to pursue excellence rather than fame, reminding them that patience, consistency and self-improvement are key to building a lasting career in the music industry.
