Sophia Momodu Says She Solely Handles Daughter Imade’s Upkeep

LAGOS – Sophia Momodu, the mother of Afrobeats star Davido’s first daughter, Imade, has sparked reactions on social media after claiming she is solely responsible for the child’s financial upkeep.

Speaking during a live session shared online, Sophia suggested that she bears the responsibility for settling her daughter’s expenses whenever they arise.

“Na only me my pikin get, no be audio money. If bill come now from up, down, na me go settle am. Una know as e dey go. Make una leave all these audio money,” she said.

Her remarks have reignited discussions about her co-parenting relationship with Davido, with many social media users sharing differing opinions on the matter.

Sophia and Davido have had a highly publicised co-parenting journey over the years, including a legal dispute over custody of their daughter, Imade. The singer later disclosed that he had withdrawn the case.
