Kamo State Reveals Why Funke Akindele Missed His Movie Premiere

Nigerian skit maker and Nollywood actor Akinyoola Ayoola, popularly known as Kamo State, has clarified why actress Funke Akindele was absent from the premiere of his debut cinema movie, Star Lomo.

Funke’s absence from the event, which was held in Lagos on Sunday, had sparked speculation among some social media users about the relationship between the actress and Kamo State.

The speculation was fuelled by the close relationship the pair have maintained over the years, with Funke Akindele widely regarded as a mentor and supporter of the young actor.

However, Kamo State has dismissed suggestions that the actress stayed away from the premiere because of a disagreement between them.

In a post shared on his X account, the actor explained that Funke was simply outside the country at the time of the premiere.

He further stated that they remain on good terms and had discussed the movie event before it took place.

According to Kamo, Funke had assured him that she would support the film despite being unable to attend the premiere physically.

He urged members of the public to stop speculating about their personal relationship and instead focus their attention on the movie.

Kamo wrote, “Please, we’re on good terms. She missed my premiere simply because she wasn’t in the country and nothing more to it, so please don’t assume otherwise.”

He added that the actress would support the project and appealed to fans to allow their private relationship remain free from speculation.

Star Lomo marks Kamo State’s debut in cinema filmmaking as the actor continues to expand his career beyond skit-making.
