Toluwanisings’ Family Seeks Burial Delay, Calls for Investigation Into Singer’s Death
The family of late gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has called for the suspension of his planned burial pending an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The development comes as the singer’s memorial service is scheduled to hold on Tuesday in Ibadan, Oyo State, amid growing disagreements among members of his family over his final resting place.
Although the burial arrangements were not publicly announced, reports indicated that the interment had been scheduled for Wednesday.
Toluwanisings died on October 14, a development that attracted widespread reactions from fans and members of the gospel music community, following his growing popularity and impactful ministrations.

Since his death, disagreements have reportedly emerged between his widow and his father’s family over where his remains should be buried.
His wife had expressed a preference for a cemetery or church-owned burial ground, explaining that she would be uncomfortable living in a house where her husband was buried.
However, his father previously stated that he preferred his son to be buried either at their family home or in their village, where the singer’s mother was laid to rest.
The disagreement has now taken another turn, with Lawal Rauf, an uncle of the deceased, announcing that members of the father’s family oppose the planned Wednesday burial.
In a statement, Rauf said the family wanted the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death investigated before any burial arrangements proceeded.
“We don’t want him to be buried on Wednesday as they planned to. Everyone from his father’s family has agreed to this. We want people to help us in doing investigations into his death,” the statement read.
The family also maintained that the singer should eventually be buried at his home in Ibadan, where his wife currently resides.
Rauf appealed to the government, Nigerians and religious leaders to support efforts to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation.
As the dispute continues, the proposed burial arrangements remain a subject of disagreement among the deceased singer’s relatives.
