‘I Was Desperate for Validation’ – DJ Cuppy Opens Up on Finding Peace in Christ

Disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has opened up about her personal and spiritual transformation.

In a TikTok video, the billionaire heiress reflected on how far she has come and how her priorities have changed since embracing Christ.

Cuppy admitted that at the start of her career, she was desperate for validation and craved clout and public recognition.

According to her, she constantly worried about staying relevant and being seen as important, but her relationship with God has brought her to a completely different place, emotionally and spiritually.

She said she now lives in peace, with her sense of worth no longer tied to public approval or attention.

“I was thinking about how I have grown as a person, and I really look at how desperate I was for validation at the start of my career. I wanted to be relevant. I was scared of not being important. I craved clout. And now I’m just in a place of peace,” she said.

Cuppy referenced Galatians 1:10 to explain her new mindset, noting that she is no longer focused on pleasing people.

“It reminds me of a verse in the Bible, Galatians 1:10, which says, ‘Really and truly, am I trying to please people, or am I actually trying to please God?’ Because if I were people-pleasing, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ, and that is how I live my life. Yeah, it’s working out for me. I no longer care what people think,” she added.
