Doyinsola Releases ‘Ejire’ After Welcoming Twins Following Seven-Year Wait

Nigerian singer and fashion creative Doyinsola has released a new single titled Ejire, celebrating the arrival of her twins after waiting seven years to become a mother.

The singer said the inspiration behind the song came when she discovered she was expecting two babies. She channelled the emotions and excitement surrounding the news into music, turning a significant personal experience into a creative expression.

For Doyinsola, Ejire represents more than a new addition to her musical catalogue. The song reflects the joy of welcoming her children and the fulfilment of a long-awaited dream.

The title is drawn from the Yoruba word associated with twins, highlighting the cultural significance of their arrival and the special place twins hold in many Nigerian families.

Doyinsola’s journey to motherhood has not been without challenges. The singer previously opened up about the emotional difficulties she experienced while trying to have children, including multiple miscarriages. She also explained that music provided an outlet during some of the difficult moments.

The arrival of her twins therefore marks an important milestone in her personal life, with her latest release offering a glimpse into the emotions surrounding the experience.

Beyond music, Doyinsola has built a creative identity that combines singing with fashion. Her interest in fashion began when she was 12, when she started learning sewing, a passion she has continued to develop alongside her music career.

Her musical releases include Fallacy, Be Mine and Rewind. She has also collaborated with veteran Nigerian singer 9ice on the song Originality.

With Ejire, Doyinsola celebrates motherhood through music, transforming a deeply personal experience into a song inspired by hope, joy and the arrival of the children she had long awaited.
