Davido Reacts to Official Streamer Davrel’s Public Apology After Burial Ceremony Controversy
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has broken his silence following the public apology issued by his official streamer, Davrel, after a video from the burial ceremony of Israel DMW’s late father sparked widespread reactions online.
The controversy began after footage from the ceremony in Edo State showed Davrel seated on a chair reportedly reserved for Davido while the award-winning singer remained standing nearby. In the clip, Davrel was also seen with one of his legs placed on the chair before he was approached and asked to vacate the seat.
The incident quickly generated debate on social media, with members of Davido’s fanbase, popularly known as 30BG, accusing the streamer of showing disrespect to the music star.
Following the backlash, Davrel released a public apology, expressing regret over the incident and appealing to Davido’s supporters for understanding.
Davido responded to the apology in the comments section, offering words of encouragement while advising the streamer to be more mindful of his actions going forward.
“Good job son. Move better n be smarter the world is watching u now. Love u,” Davido wrote.
